Inspired by the lanterns hanging in the Mediterranean coast and homes, Miguel Mil created the Cesta series, which are now considered magnificent masterpieces. Santa & Cole CestaMetlica Table Lamp is the restructured version of Santa & Cole Cesta Table Lamp, created in 1962. While the Cesta lamp has a circular discand four-legged standto hold the lampshade, the CestaMetlica has a plain design. Instead of the cherry wood frame, it has a firm steel structure that balances the lampshade efficiently but without a neck.

Miguel Mil discovered an opal glass globe outside a glass factory and retained with him as a prized possession.The lampshade of Santa & Cole CestaMetlica Table Lamp is a reminiscence of this spherical object and is made manually by skillful European craftsmen. They useconventional glass blowing techniques, andit is a painstaking process to create this visually fascinating sphere.Unlike in Cesta, the lampshade does not have an opening on top.

The lamp comes with a leather handle, which not only adds a natural appeal but also improves its functionality.A variant without the handle is also available. A dimmer provided on the cord controls the brightness of the light from radiant to subtle.Though the lamp looks delicate, it is multi-functional, robust, and durable. It is ideal for lighting hallways, tables, or bedside tables.
