Due to the minimalism and even, unembellished exterior, this classic light remains appealing to modern design. The shade is constructed from mouth-blown opal white matt glass.
The body is constructed from steel and is available in 2 different colors, brass matt and dark grey.
The shade is fastened to a metal disc at the apex which allows room for a couple of concentric rings to be placed into the area below this.
The dimensions of the Dahl pendant lamp are as follows: width 25 cm and height 44 cm. The light weighs 2.1 kg, and is provided with a black rubber wire which is 300 cm in length.
The bulb required for the Dahl pendant is an E27 Max. 100W one with a voltage of 220V – 240V ~ 50Hz.
As mentioned, the Dahl pendant lamp was designed by Birger Dahl who was born in 1916 and died in 1998. Dahl was the first to delve into modern lighting design in Scandinavia.
It was there that he developed and refined his characteristic style and created a new perception of designing lamps. Severe geometric forms, including circles, cones, and cylinders, formed the main inspiration behind Dahls designs. He did, however, soothe the severity of these shapes with soft contours.
The aim of Northern Lighting is to create and inspire. This is achieved through the conception of original ideas so unique that conventional methods appear utterly outdated.
