Designed by John Astbury, the Atlas Stool takes inspiration from various architectural influences, referencing porticoes and colonnades but primarily building on the archetypal post-and-lintel construction. The simple geometry of the circle and the square forms the stools character and composition, echoing the primary archetypes that define its design.
John Astbury, who established his studio in Stockholm in 2014, focuses on reducing objects to their fundamental elements, revealing material, structure, and form. His work is characterized by a language of absolute simplicity, making visible the dialogues and symbols surrounding the object.

The Atlas Stool, crafted from solid oak, is available in two finishes: an oiled natural version and an oiled dark fumed version. Both finishes emphasize the woods natural veins, celebrating its inherent properties.
