Studio Habits designed the Elastica lamp in a very experimental way from the idea of developing a lamp from textile where they already had a ground-sky prototype fitted with an elastic spool. This is how they came up with the idea of incorporating that mechanical property into a fabric band as the lamp’s controls

As such, “Elastica” also refers to the elasticity of light in terms of intensity and experiencing light in an innovative and interactive way. Gently pull down the elastic band and the light comes on. By holding the band down or up longer, you can very easily dim or amplify the light as desired.

The Elastica lamps connect the floor to the ceiling and not only provide the room with strips of dimmable light, they also create a fantastic graphic effect in your interior. The length-adjustable (250-300cm), flexible connection allows you to adjust the slope of the elastic band to create a unique interplay of lines of light.
