Joan Gaspar is an industrial designer based in Barcelona. He started his career by manufacturing minimalist lamps. From 1992, he started working for a variety of famous firms like Mobles 114, Santa & Cole, etc. In 1996, he joined Marset Iluminacin and designed many products that reflected his creativity and technical expertise. He has won many awards and recognitions. In 2014, he created the Marset Ginger LED suspension lamp as a tribute to Peter Edward Ginger Baker, an English drummer, and co-founder of the Rock band Cream.

Marset Ginger LED suspension lamp resembles a cymbal in a drum kit,with its disc-shaped shade. It is made by pressing layers of wood, paper, and resins under high pressure, to form a flat 4mm thick plate. The inside of the plate is plated with white or gold to reflect the light. The light source is a radiant LED hidden by a lacquered black matte Aluminium dissipater, which is in the shape of a small cup. It is hung from a black painted iron circular or tubular canopy. The suspension length can be adjusted as desired, using a small metal hook. The lamp is available with the original oak or wenge lampshade and a new metal variant. It comes with lampshades of different diameters and colors. The Marset Ginger LED suspension lamps provide an indirect glare-free warm light, and is perfect for lighting long hallways, dining areas, restaurants, hotels, offices, etc.
