The rug is in excellent condition and would be a gorgeous wedding or anniversary gift today as it would have been early last century. Made with Persian wool, pile about one third inch using vegetable dyes. The colors are traditional for the time including blood red, rose, royal and midnight blues with accents of golden tan, browns, and beige. Not uncommon for smaller Persian and Armenian antiques, the warp and weft is also wool while cotton was used to stabilize the selvage and fringe (all the edges around the perimeter). This rug measures 3’11” x 4’11”.
